GREY STONE RP

🧭 1. CORE PRINCIPLES

These four ideas sit above every specific rule. When a rule is unclear, apply these.

1. Everyone here is a person. Your fun never comes at the cost of someone else's ability to play.
2. Actions must have in-character reasons. If you can't explain why your character did something, don't do it.
3. Actions must have consequences. Your character can be arrested, injured, robbed, or killed. That's the game working, not the game failing.
4. Losing is content. A character who never loses is a character nobody wants to interact with.

🗣️ 2. GENERAL CONDUCT

2.1 — Zero tolerance behavior. Real-world racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or slurs are permanently bannable. There is no "my character is racist" exemption. This applies in-game, in voice, in text chat, in character names, on your player ID, and in any server-linked platform.

2.2 — No real-world hate, threats, or harassment. Threats of real violence, doxxing, sharing anyone's personal information, or following a player around specifically to make them miserable will result in a permanent ban.

2.3 — Minimum age is 16. Anyone found to be under 16 will be removed from the community. Adult-themed scenes must never involve a player known or believed to be a minor, in any form.

2.4 — English in-game. Other languages are allowed for flavor or short exchanges, but the primary language for scenes must be English so staff and other players can follow along.

2.5 — Working microphone required. You must be able to speak in-character. Text-only RP is not permitted for general play.

2.6 — No advertising. Do not advertise other servers, communities, sales of accounts/assets, or personal content without staff permission.

2.7 — Respect staff. You may disagree with a staff ruling. Do it calmly, in a ticket, after the scene. Arguing with staff mid-scene, in OOC chat, or in public channels will earn its own punishment separate from the original issue.

🎭 3. ROLEPLAY FUNDAMENTALS

3.1 — Stay in character. You are in character from the moment you spawn until you disconnect. Break character only when a staff member instructs you to, or to briefly report a serious issue such as a slur or a crash.

3.2 — No OOC in-game. Do not discuss ping, framerate, scripts, streamers, Discord, other players' real lives, or "this is just a game" while in a scene. Use /report or a ticket instead.

3.3 — Metagaming is banned. Using information your character has no way of knowing is metagaming. This includes:

• Stream sniping or watching another player's POV and acting on it
• Using Discord, Teamspeak, or party voice to relay live information
• Acting on information you learned in another character's life
• Recognizing a masked player by their voice alone unless you have genuinely established that voice in RP
• "Streamer mode" is not permission to metagame — if you are found to be watching someone's stream while interacting with them, it is a ban

3.4 — Powergaming is banned. Powergaming is forcing an outcome, ignoring realism, or removing another player's ability to react. Examples:

• Typing /me knocks him out with no chance for a response
• Ignoring injuries — running and fighting with a broken leg or two gunshot wounds
• Superhuman strength, unrealistic skills, or abilities your character has no background in
• Pulling a full weapon loadout out of nowhere in a scene where it makes no sense
• Continuing to fight while clearly and realistically incapacitated

3.5 — Fail RP. Any behavior no reasonable person would exhibit in that situation. Driving a supercar at 150 mph down Vespucci Beach for no reason, jumping off buildings for fun, ramming police cars head-on with no plan, or treating your character's life as disposable is Fail RP.

3.6 — Value of Life (VOL / NVL). Your character fears death and injury. If a gun is on you, comply. If you are outnumbered and outgunned, comply. You may attempt to escape or fight back only when it is realistic: a distraction, a lapse in attention, a genuine opening. "I had a gun in my pocket" is not an opening when three rifles are pointed at your head.

3.7 — Fear RP applies to everyone, including police, EMS, and gang leaders. Nobody is exempt because of their job or their reputation.

3.8 — New Life Rule (NLR). When you die and respawn without being revived by EMS, your character does not remember the events leading up to their death, does not remember who killed them, and may not return to the area of their death for 30 minutes. You may not seek revenge for a death you don't remember. You may not return to retrieve your belongings.

3.9 — Downed does not mean dead. While downed you may only use /me and /do for realistic actions such as groaning or bleeding. You cannot text, call for backup, hand out information, or crawl across the map. You cannot describe seeing things you couldn't see face-down on the pavement.

3.10 — Combat logging is banned. Disconnecting during an active scene, a chase, a robbery, or while downed is punished as if you had lost the scene, plus a ban. If you crash, rejoin immediately and return to the scene. If you cannot rejoin, open a ticket — do not simply vanish.

3.11 — Consent for extreme scenes. Torture, permanent injury, permanent character death, kidnapping past 30 minutes, and body modification require the other player's OOC agreement. Ask, in a /pm or a quick OOC line, before you commit to it.

🚫 4. NO ERP — ABSOLUTE RULE

ERP (Erotic Roleplay) is completely banned on this server. There are no exceptions, no private-server-carve-outs, and no "we were in a house with the doors locked."

4.1 — Sexual or explicitly romantic roleplay, sexual acts, sexual descriptions in /me or /do, sexual voice acting, and sexual animations are prohibited in every location — public, private property, instanced apartments, or otherwise.

4.2 — Sexual harassment of another character, including unwanted advances that continue after the other player disengages, is treated as a serious offense regardless of IC framing.

4.3 — Sexualized character models, nudity, adult clothing mods, and pornographic tattoos, phone wallpapers, or in-game images are prohibited.

4.4 — Adult professions (strip clubs, escort RP) may exist as flavor and atmosphere only — dancing, bartending, front-of-house work. The moment the scene turns explicit, it stops being allowed.

4.5 — Romance between characters is welcome. Dating, marriage, jealousy, breakups, and drama are excellent RP. The line is simple: fade to black. When a scene heads toward anything sexual, both players type /me fades to black and the scene ends there.

4.6 — Any ERP involving a player known or believed to be a minor is an instant permanent ban and a report to the platform.

Punishment: first offense is a 7-day ban minimum. Repeat or aggravated offenses are permanent.

⚔️ 5. COMBAT, RDM & VDM

5.1 — RDM (Random Deathmatch) is banned. You may not kill, shoot at, or attack another player without prior, meaningful roleplay interaction. "Prior interaction" means an actual scene — a confrontation, a demand, a conflict — not a single line of dialogue used as a checkbox before you shoot.

5.2 — VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch) is banned. Using a vehicle as a weapon against players or intentionally ramming to kill is prohibited. This includes vehicles used against officers on foot during a chase unless a substantial criminal scene justifies it and even then it will be reviewed.

5.3 — Initiation. Before hostile action, you must give the other party a genuine opportunity to comply or respond. Valid initiation is clear, audible, and specific: a demand, a threat, an order. Initiation does not carry over to unrelated bystanders.

5.4 — Third-party involvement. You may only join an active shootout if your character has a legitimate IC reason and was realistically present or contacted. Driving past a firefight and joining in is RDM.

5.5 — Revenge and retaliation. Retaliation must be roleplayed, not immediate. If you were revived by EMS you retain memory and may pursue revenge, but only after a 30-minute cooldown and only through actual RP — a plan, a confrontation, a build-up. No instant respawn-and-return.

5.6 — No spawn camping, no camping hospitals, no camping police stations, no camping garages.

5.7 — Green zones (no hostile action): Pillbox Hospital and its immediate lot, Mission Row PD lobby and parking, the DMV, City Hall, Legion Square vehicle spawn, and any active staff-run server event. You may still roleplay in these areas — you simply may not initiate violence there or use them as a safe retreat mid-scene. Fleeing into a green zone to escape a scene is Fail RP.

5.8 — Group limits. A maximum of 6 players may participate in a single criminal operation (robbery, heist, hit, ambush). Larger gang-vs-gang conflicts must be approved in advance by staff.

5.9 — Weapon realism. Your character carries what they could realistically carry. No rifles pulled from pockets in a hospital gown. Melee, pistols, and concealed weapons are the default; long guns need a bag, a vehicle, or a good reason.

🕶️ 6. CRIMINAL ROLEPLAY

6.1 — Robbery of players. You may rob another player's cash, non-essential items, and their phone SIM card and SD card. You may not take: their entire bank balance, their house, their owned vehicles, their job-critical items, or more than $5,000 in cash. Robbing a player must involve real RP, not a 10-second stickup.

6.1a — SIM and SD cards are fair game. Taking someone's SIM or SD card is allowed and encouraged as real criminal RP — the contacts, photos, and footage on them are exactly the kind of leverage worth robbing a person for. The same conditions apply as any robbery: real roleplay, a genuine IC motive, and no stripping a player of everything they own. Returning, selling, or holding a card for ransom is good content. Taking one purely to inconvenience someone off the server is griefing and will be punished as such.

6.2 — Robbery cooldown. You may not rob the same player twice within 30 minutes, and you may not run more than one store/business robbery per 30 minutes.

6.3 — Kidnapping. Allowed with a clear IC reason. Maximum length is 30 minutes unless the victim OOC-agrees to extend. The victim must be given a realistic chance of escape or release. Kidnapping to grief someone off the server is bannable.

6.4 — Hostages. A hostage must be a willing OOC participant or a genuine bystander taken in the moment. Never use a friend as a fake hostage to gain leverage — that is Fail RP. Police must treat hostage situations seriously, and criminals must treat hostages as human beings, not shields to be discarded.

6.5 — Cop baiting is banned. Do not commit crimes purely to trigger a police response for fun. Every crime needs a motive: money, territory, revenge, a message.

6.6 — Corruption RP (dirty cops, bribed officials, crooked EMS) requires prior approval from department leadership and staff.

6.7 — No banking heists / major heists with under 4 police on duty. Store robberies require at least 2. Check /police before you start.

6.8 — Criminal groups must be registered with staff. Unregistered gangs may not claim territory, run turf conflicts, or conduct organized warfare.

🔪 7. SERIAL KILLER ROLEPLAY

Serial killer roleplay is explicitly allowed on Greystone RP. It is one of the darkest, most rewarding storylines a server can host — a slow-building mystery that pulls in police, EMS, journalists, families, and the whole city.

It is also the single easiest RP style to abuse, because at a glance it looks identical to RDM. The rules below exist so this stays a story and never becomes a license to kill randomly. Every rule in this section is a hard requirement. Violating any of them is treated as RDM plus rule evasion, which carries a heavier punishment than plain RDM.

7.1 — Whitelist required

You may not run a serial killer character without an approved application. Applications are submitted through a ticket and must include:

• Your character's full backstory, psychology, and motive — why they kill
• Their signature or pattern — victim type, method, calling card, ritual. A serial killer without a pattern is just a murderer.
• Your intended story arc and how you plan for it to eventually end (arrest, exposure, death, disappearance)
• Confirmation that you have read and accept this entire section

Approval is per-character and can be revoked at any time by staff. Killing under a serial killer premise without approval is an instant ban.

7.2 — Build-up is mandatory

A minimum of 10 minutes of genuine roleplay is required with a victim before any lethal action. Not 10 minutes of following them silently — 10 minutes of actual interaction. Conversation, luring, a false pretext, a job offer, a ride, a shared drink, a stalking scene the victim is aware of.

Your victim must know, by the time it happens, that they are in a scene. A person who dies confused and with no memory of interacting with you has been RDM'd, no matter what your character's backstory says.

7.3 — Thirty-minute cooldown

You may not kill again for 30 minutes after a serial killer kill. This clock starts the moment your victim goes down.

The cooldown is not a countdown to your next kill. It is time your character spends in the world — cleaning up, disposing of evidence, going home, going to work, being a normal person. If you spend all 30 minutes hunting for the next target, you're doing this wrong and staff will pull the whitelist.

7.4 — Kill limits

• Maximum 2 serial killer kills per in-game day.
• Maximum 4 per real-world week, per character.
• You may not kill the same player twice within 72 hours.
• You may not kill more than one member of the same friend group, gang, or department in a 48-hour window. Serial killers spread fear across a city, not across one Discord.

7.5 — Victim selection

• Never target new players. Anyone with under 20 hours on the server is off-limits. Check before you commit.
• Never target a player who has OOC-opted out. Every player has an unconditional right to say "not for me" via /pm or a ticket, at any point, including mid-scene. When someone opts out you disengage immediately and in-character — your character loses interest, gets spooked, gets called away. No arguing, no retaliation, no adding them to a list.
• Never target players in the middle of another player's major scene, a heist, a court case, a wedding, or a staff event.
• Victims should generally be strangers or acquaintances. Repeatedly targeting the same person is harassment.

7.6 — Location rules

• No kills in green zones (see 5.7).
• No kills in crowded public areas — Legion Square, the airport, busy Vespucci, the front of Mission Row — unless the scene genuinely warrants it and witnesses would realistically exist.
• No kills inside another player's owned property without their OOC consent.
• Isolated locations, private meetings, and lured setups are the intended style.

7.7 — Method and content limits

• Firearms are permitted but discouraged as a signature — a gunshot in a public area is not subtle, and your character should behave accordingly.
• Torture requires the victim's explicit OOC consent and must remain non-graphic. Use /me and /do sparingly. This is a shared space, not a horror film.
• No sexual content whatsoever. Section 4 applies in full and without exception. Any serial killer RP that includes sexual elements results in an immediate permanent ban and revocation of the whitelist.
• Never involve children, minors, or minor NPCs in serial killer RP in any capacity.
• No cannibalism RP, no gore descriptions beyond what a police report would contain, no real-world killers used as your character's identity or inspiration by name.
• No mass-casualty scenes. One victim per incident.

7.8 — You must leave a trail

A serial killer who is never caught is a bad serial killer. You are required to actively feed the investigation:

• Leave a body. Do not delete, despawn, or hide evidence out of the scene entirely. Police and EMS need something to find.
• Maintain your signature so investigators can connect kills.
• Interact with the investigation — witnesses, near-misses, a reporter, a taunt. Give the city something to chase.
• You must accept being caught. If police build a case and arrest you, that is your story ending well. Fighting the arrest OOC, refusing to accept evidence, or "my character would never get caught" is bannable.
• Permanent character death (CK) is on the table for a serial killer whose arc concludes. Apply expecting it.

7.9 — Victims keep their rights

Being killed by a serial killer does not remove your standard protections:

• New Life Rule applies. If you die and respawn, you do not remember your killer. Do not identify them afterward.
• If EMS revives you, you retain what your character genuinely experienced — which, if you were hooded, drugged, or attacked from behind, may be very little. Play it honestly.
• You may pursue the story: hire a PI, talk to police, live in fear, move house. That is exactly the content this rule set is here to create.

7.10 — Recording requirement

Serial killer whitelist holders must record their kill scenes and retain the footage for at least 14 days. If a victim reports you, footage that shows the required build-up is your defense. No footage means the report is decided against you by default.

7.11 — The abuse test

Staff apply one question when reviewing a serial killer report: "Was this a story, or was this a kill with a costume on?" If a reasonable person watching the footage would call it random killing, it is RDM. Backstory is not a shield.

🚓 8. POLICE, EMS & GOVERNMENT

8.1 — Emergency services are whitelisted. Applications go through department leadership.

8.2 — You must be off-duty and in civilian clothing to engage in criminal activity. Never carry over knowledge between your civilian and LEO/EMS characters.

8.3 — EMS are neutral. Do not shoot, rob, or take EMS hostage while they are actively working a scene. Criminals should allow EMS access to downed players once a scene is over.

8.4 — Police must roleplay realistically: proper stops, radio traffic, escalation of force, reading rights. No rushing scenes, no ignoring hostage demands, no ramming to end pursuits at speed.

8.5 — Corruption, brutality, and internal-affairs storylines require prior approval.

8.6 — Do not impersonate police, EMS, or government officials without an appropriate IC setup — and never use a real department uniform or vehicle to do it without approval.

🚗 9. VEHICLES & DRIVING

9.1 — Drive realistically. Your character has one body, no seatbelt-proof spine, and a real fear of crashing.

9.2 — No unrealistic off-roading. Supercars do not climb Mount Chiliad. Sedans do not survive 200-foot drops.

9.3 — No vehicle-surfing, no shooting from a motorcycle while driving, no using a vehicle to block or trap players unrealistically.

9.4 — Stolen vehicles must be roleplayed. Break in, hotwire, use /me.

9.5 — Do not abandon vehicles in roadways, doorways, or spawn points. Do not spawn vehicles inside buildings.

9.6 — Emergency vehicles are for emergency personnel only. Stealing one requires a substantial criminal scene, not a joyride.

🛠️ 10. EXPLOITS, MODS & TECHNICAL

10.1 — Any cheat, injector, menu, aimbot, ESP, or unfair modification is a permanent ban with no appeal. This includes having them installed while connected, whether used or not.

10.2 — Bug abuse is a ban. If you find an exploit — money duplication, item duplication, clipping through walls, script errors that give an advantage — report it in a ticket. Reporters are rewarded. Abusers are removed.

10.3 — Allowed client mods: graphics packs, ENB/ReShade, sound mods, HUD-neutral visual mods, non-advantageous vehicle/ped textures.

10.4 — Banned client mods: anything that reveals information (radar mods showing hidden entities, ped highlighting), no-clip, speed modification, custom crosshairs, or trainer software.

10.5 — Do not attempt to access, decrypt, or redistribute server resources. Asset theft is a permanent ban and a Cfx report.

10.6 — Ban evasion via a new account or spoofed identifiers extends the original ban permanently and bans the new account.

👤 11. NAMES & CHARACTERS

11.1 — Character names must be realistic and lore-appropriate. No celebrities, no memes, no joke names, no single names.

11.2 — You may not transfer money, vehicles, or items between your own characters.

11.3 — Characters do not share knowledge. Your second character does not know what your first character learned.

11.4 — Permanent character death (CK) only occurs with staff approval or by agreement between the players involved.

📸 12. STREAMING & CONTENT

12.1 — Streaming is welcome and encouraged. Stream sniping is not — see 3.3.

12.2 — Use a stream delay for criminal or sensitive RP. This is your protection, not ours.

12.3 — Do not post clips that identify or humiliate another player OOC. Clips of good RP are great. Clips captioned to start drama are not.

12.4 — Recording is permitted for everyone, and encouraged for evidence in reports. Serial killer whitelist holders are required to record (7.10).

⚖️ 13. REPORTING & PUNISHMENT

13.1 — How to report. Use /report in-game for urgent issues, or open a ticket for anything else. Include: the time, the location, the player, what happened, and video evidence if you have it. Do not handle rule breaks in-character.

13.2 — Never argue mid-scene. Finish the scene, then report. Breaking character to argue makes the situation worse for everyone in it, including you.

13.3 — Punishment guidelines (staff may adjust based on severity and history):

13.4 — Appeals are submitted through the ticket system. One appeal per ban. Be honest — staff have the logs and the footage.

13.5 — Staff discretion. These rules cannot cover every situation. Staff will rule on the intent behind them. Attempting to exploit a technicality is itself a punishable offense.

Good roleplay is about creating enjoyable situations and stories for everyone involved, not just your own character.

Do I have to be a criminal?

No. You can choose whatever legitimate RP path fits your character.

Do I have to join a department?

No. Departments are optional. You can remain a civilian, run a business, race, participate in events, or pursue other RP opportunities.

What is RDM?

How do I become a police officer?

When Police Department applications are open, submit the Police Department Application through the official application system.

Can I join the Sheriff's Office?

Yes. If the Sheriff's Office is accepting applications, you can apply through the appropriate department application.

Yes. Highway Patrol applications may be available depending on department recruitment.
